Essential WordPress Plugins

WordPress plugins are used to reduce manual work in blogging. Bloggers can not imagine WordPress without plugins. Almost half of your work is done by plugins.

There are free as well as paid plugins available in WordPress store. Here, at ScrollBucks we have used many WordPress plugins since there are multiple plugins available for the same purpose, but only a few of them will give you remarkable results.

Here I am going to tell you about the essential WordPress plugins which we are using on ScrollBucks.

SEO By Yoast

Yoast is a highly recommended WordPress plugin. As it comes with a bundle of SEO package. This plugin covers almost 90% of SEO work. It is available in WordPress directory free as well as the paid version. For the premium version, you will get more features.

For a beginner, it’s difficult to set up this plugin, I have written a post about complete SEO by Yoast plugin setup.

W3 Total Cache

This plugin helps to increase the loading speed of the website and improve performance. W3 total cache provides features like Content Delivery Network(CDN) which improve the load time and ultimately the user experience.


This is an anti-spam plugin. It will prevent websites from spammers. This plugin automatically detects the every spam comment and filter out the spam comment.

UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore

UpdraftPlus is very useful WordPress plugin to take a backup of your blog daily. We can configure this plugin with any cloud storage like Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, etc and it will automatically take a backup of your blog.


This is a paid WordPress plugin is useful for email marketing. This plugin is helpful to collect the email addresses of the users by displaying the pop-up or any kind of subscription box.


Jetpack is all in one WordPress plugin as it will support multiple features inside it like stats, spam-free comment, social sharing, contact form, related post, post by email, mobile theme support and may more come inside this.


This plugin is used for sharing your content automatically on Twitter profile. You can schedule your tweet at any time, and it will automatically post to your Twitter profile.


WP-Sweep plugin is helpful to clean all the unused and duplicate data from your WordPress database. Unused data contains revision, auto draft, unapproved/spam/trashed/orphan comments. It is used to optimize the WordPress database.


WP-Smush WordPress plugin allows you to compress all your images present in your media library. Ultimately it increases the speed of the site. The free version of this plugin will enable you to compress 50 images at a time. If you want to increase the limit, then you have to upgrade it to premium.

WPForms Lite

This WordPress plugin allows you to create different types of form which you can use throughout the blog.

Easy Affiliate links

This WordPress plugin is crucial for those who monetize their blog with affiliate marketing. It’s difficult to manage all the affiliate links if you have hundreds of links. This plugin will help you to save all your affiliate links in one place and provides the stats of it.


Redirection plugin is helpful to redirect any broken/changed URL to the new one directly from the dashboard. You can check it out how to add the redirect for your blog with redirection plugin.

Broken Link Checker

This plugin will find out all the broken links in your blog. Broken links will affect the SEO of the blog. You can fix the broken links without affecting the SEO by using this plugin.
