    Google Analytics For WordPress By MonsterInsights

    Google Analytics is a Google product used to track your blog traffic. You can know more about your readers and track the performance of your blog with the help of Google Analytics.

    Google Analytics is a free service that you can use for your blog. The signup procedure for Google Analytics is very simple. Please follow the below steps to install it.

    Step 1- Go to the Google Analytics sign-up page. It will ask you to log in with your Gmail account. If you already have a Gmail account, then you can use it. Otherwise, you can create a new Gmail account.

    Step 2- Once you sign in to your Gmail account you will be able to see the signup link for Google Analytics (refer below snapshot). Click on the Signup button.

    Step 3- On the next screen, you have to fill in a few pieces of information about your blog(refer below snapshot). You will get two options for selection, make sure that you are choosing the Website option.

    Also, provide all the necessary information like Website name, URL, Industry Category, etc.

    After completion, click on the Get Tracking Id button, you will be redirected to the Google Analytics term and services page. Click on the I Agree.

    On the next screen, you will see the tracking code which we will need for the next steps. You have to copy this code and put it in your WordPress blog as per your installation method. We have to keep the Google Analytics tab open until we add the tracking code to our WordPress blog.

    Install Google Analytics using MonsterInsights

    There are different ways to install Google Analytics on your blog. Here, I am going to explain how to install Google Analytics using the MonsterInsights WordPress plugin.

    MonsterInsights is a very popular plugin that has more than 2 million active installations. This plugin is available in the WordPress store with free and paid versions. Here are the steps to install the MonsterInsights plugin.

    Step 1– Firstly, you have to install and activate the MonsterInsights plugin from the WordPress store. You will be redirected to the MonsterInsights setup screen.

    You have to choose from three website category Business, Publisher(Blog), E-commerce. Click save and continue.

    You will be redirected to Connect MonsterInsights screen. This will connect your Google Analytics account which we have created earlier to your WordPress blog.

    Once you click on Connect MonsterInsights you will be asked to sign in to your Google account. Do sign in where your Google Analytics account is present.

    Once you sign in, you will be asked to give permission to MonsterInsights. Click Allow button to continue.

    Now, you are in the final step. You will have to choose the website name from the dropdown which you want to track.

    Note- All the websites which are configured under this Google account will be shown in the dropdown. You have to choose one website which you want to track.

    After that, MonsterInsights will start installing Google Analytics on your website. Rest default setting will work fine for almost all the websites.

    In the report section, you will get all the Google Analytics data and you can track all your website performance.

    MonsterInsights has another feature to track your affiliate links in Google Analytics. Go to the publisher tab and add your affiliate path and label.

    If you want more features, then you can upgrade the MonsterInsights plugin to premium.
