WPForms offers many addons for premium users. If you want to take advantage of premium features and addons, you can upgrade your WPForms license to the paid version.
WPForms offers four different plans Basic, Plus, Pro, Elite. You can check out the pricing here.
WPForms has introduced a Mailchimp addon for plus plan users by which you can easily create a subscription form in WordPress and connect it with your Mailchimp lists.
This tutorial will explain how we can create a subscription form in WPForms and connect the Mailchimp list.
Install And Activate WPForms and Mailchimp Addon
The first step is to install and activate the WPForms WordPress plugin.
WPForms is a free WordPress plugin, but if you want more features and addon support, you can purchase the premium version. For this tutorial, we need to have the plus plan of WPForms.
Once you installed the WPForms plugin, you can navigate to WPForms » Addons and search for Mailchimp Addon.
Install and Activate the Mailchimp addon.
Create A Form
We are ready to create a subscription form.
You can navigate to WPForms » Add New to create a new form. You will get many predefined forms. For this tutorial, you can choose Newsletter Signup Form and click create.
Once you create the newsletter form, on the next screen, you will get form editor with basic fields.
You can drag and drop the fields which you want from the left side panel. Then, if you want to change any fields, click on that field, and you will get an editor for a specific field.
The best thing about the WPForms Newsletter forms is you will get the GDPR Agreement field. You can drag and drop the field into your form.
You can click on the GDPR Agreement field to make any changes.
Also, if you want to use the GDPR Agreement field, you can enable it from WPForms » Settings and click on the GDPR Enhancements checkbox.
Once all the customization is done, you can save your form.
Connect Signup Form With Mailchimp
We have to connect the newsletter form with Mailchimp. You can navigate to Marketing » Mailchimp.
Click on Add New Connection.
Now, enter the connection nickname.
You can enter any name. This is just for reference.
On the next screen, you need to put the Mailchimp API key. You will get the API key from your Mailchimp account.
Login to your Mailchimp account and go to Your Profile » Extras » API Keys.
Copy the API key and paste it to WPForms connection screen where we left.
Once you enter the API key and connect the Mailchimp, you have to do some settings.
- Select your Mailchimp account.
- Choose the email list for your subscribers.
- Map the fields.
When the readers subscribe to your newsletter, you will get notifications. By default, it is enabled.
You can change the notifications settings from the Notifications tab. You can add other email addresses to get the notifications.
Configure Subscribe Form Confirmations
Once the user subscribed to your newsletter, we should show them the confirmation message for successful submission. WPForms allow us to set up the confirmation message in three different ways.
- Message- This is a default method to let the users know about the successful submission of forms. Once users submit the forms, they will get notified on that screen itself.
- Display page- You can add the customized page once the users submit the form.
- Redirect– You can redirect users to any other URL when they submit the form.
You can configure any of the above methods in forms, Setting » Confirmation.
Add Form To WordPress
Once you are done with all the settings and customization, it’s time to publish your form on your website. You can add a form to your posts, pages, etc.
Open the Page/Post editor where you want to add the newsletter form. Click on the add block button and choose the WPForms. You will get the dropdown menu.
Choose your newsletter form from the dropdown. Save the changes. That’s it.
In this way, you can connect your Mailchimp email list to the WPForms newsletter form to grow your email lists.
