How To Write SEO Friendly Blog Posts To Get More Organic Traffic?

Writing unique blog content is quite a difficult task for bloggers and if we have to write SEO-friendly content then it’s more difficult.

In this post, I am going to tell you my techniques for writing an SEO-friendly blog post. Organic traffic is the trusted traffic from Google, for which most bloggers work hard. You will have to follow a few tips to get more organic traffic to your blog.

However, getting organic traffic is easier if you know the few tricks for writing content. I have sorted out ten steps, which I followed to write an SEO-friendly blog post.

  1. Search blog topic
  2. Write an SEO friendly post title
  3. Research on that topic and collect more info
  4. Keyword research
  5. Find out the keyword difficulty
  6. Analyze the competition
  7. LSI keyword research
  8. Domain authority(DA) and page authority(PA) comparison
  9. Finally, write a post
  10. Verify the post

Here I will explain each point in-depth to understand better. If you follow all the steps, I am sure that your organic traffic will increase reasonably. So let’s start this tutorial

Topic Research

The first step is to finding out the topics for the blog post. If you have already decided to write the post, then make sure that you have complete knowledge about the subject. Also, choose a topic from your blog niche. Writing on an unrelated topic (other than blog niche) will not help you to drive traffic.

If you are confused about topics, then use some topic name generator tools. You will get a thousand blog topic ideas in your blog niche. Find out the right topic for your blog.

Post title

The blog post title should be eye-catching and attract readers. For this, you can use the online topic generator tools. Here I will suggest some of the favorite blog topic generator tools

  • Hubspot blog topic generator tool
  • Portent content idea generator

You can use any other tool to generate the topic names. Once you have decided on the blog topic, the next step is to collect complete information about that subject.

Gathering information

Before writing any blog post, you must have full and accurate information about the topic. So, I would recommend you collect all the data from all mediums. You can use social networking sites, forums, relevant blogs, etc.

Note down all the necessary information on the notepad or save it anywhere. Decide the sequence of each point. Keep in mind that the sequence of the post is crucial.

Keyword Research

This is a broad topic in the blogging field. We cannot understand in a single post, but still, I will deliver some significant steps about keyword research. Finding the right keyword for your blog is a tough task than writing a post. How to find the right keyword for your blog?

First, I will tell you some important keyword research tools available in the market.

  1. Google Keyword Planner
  2. SEMrush
  3. Keyword Tool
  4. SERP keyword research
  5. KWfinder

Above all, tools help you to find out the right keyword for your blog post. Most of the tools are paid, but you can use the Google keyword planner tools, it’s a free tool. By using this tool, you will not get the exact search volume for that keyword, but at least you will get the idea about that keyword.

Rest all the tools have some limit for a day. I mean for KWfinder free version you can search three keywords per day. For SEMrush, you can search for 10-15 keywords per day. Others are free, but just for keywords ideas, you will not get the other information like search volume, CPC, keywords difficulty, etc.

I have a trick to find the right keyword without investing money or buying the pro version of the above tool. Follow the below steps.

You have to find the keywords having a high volume of searches per month and low competition.

  1. First, search the keyword ideas in Google keyword planner. You can quickly get a sense of the searches per month.
  2. Pick up that keyword and place it in SEMrush. You will get all the information you need like keyword difficulty, CPC rate, Search volume, etc.
  3. Still, if you require more information, you can search that keyword in the remaining tools to get more info.

Keyword difficulty

This is an essential step to get a rank in Google. Earlier I said that as a beginner find the low competition keywords so that you can easily rank. In the above step, you have learned how to find the right keyword. Here I will tell you what Keyword difficulty is.

Here is the breakdown of keyword difficulty

0 – 9: effortless
10 – 19: go for it
20 – 29: easy
30 – 39: still easy
40 – 54: possible
55 – 74: hard
75 – 89: very hard
90 – 100: don’t do it

Keyword difficulty is the estimate of how difficult it would be to rank in Google organic search. The complexity of the keywords is measured in percentage and here are some stats of difficulty.

Below I have searched for one keyword in SEMrush to show you how keyword difficulty is shown. To find the right keyword for the blog, you may need to consider factor search volume and Keyword Difficulty. According to this two-factor, I have picked up the second keyword for my blog (keyword research tool).

But this is not sufficient as 69.88 difficulties are very high for a beginner. I would recommend you to find such a keyword having difficulty less than 50%. It would be easier to rank for such low-difficulty keywords.

Now, what is your objective?

To find a keyword having more search volume and competition less than 50%

Domain authority(DA)

This is vital to beat our competitor in search rank. Domain authority is the score decided by the MOZ on how popular a website is, how well a particular website rank in Google. If you want to compare both sites, then you can use this factor for comparing the strength of the website.

You can check the domain authority of any website online. There are some tools available online that check domain and page authority.

Now coming to the point, once you select the keywords then find out the top 20 SERPs and check the domain authority of all the websites ranking top 20 on Google for that keywords. Compare the Domain authority of all domains with your site. If the domain authority of the top 20 websites is more than your blog, then it’s difficult for you to beat all other domains. It also means that it’s difficult for your blog to rank on Google.

So, now your objective is slightly changed

NOTE- Find such keywords having more search volume and less than 50 keywords difficulty. Also, the domain authority of the first 20 results in less or closer to your domain authority.

LSI keyword research

LSI is the latent semantic indexing keyword. LSI keywords are related keywords to our most main keywords. Where do we get these LSI keywords? Google itself provides so many LSI keyword ideas at the end of the search result.

LSI keywords in google

When you search for something on Google, you will get LSI keywords at the end of the search result. Also, the LSI graph is the best website to find out the LSI keywords for your blog.

LSI graph to find out LSI keywords

You can use both techniques to find out the more related keywords for your blog. The primary objective of adding LSI keywords is to make our content interconnected to the main targeted keywords.

Your post will be more SEO-friendly for a particular keyword. Read the below article to know more about keyword placement in a blog post.

Now you have all the stuff necessary for writing a great blog post for SEO. Now it depends on you how you explain your topic in your blog post. If the users are satisfied with your content, then definitely they will revisit your blog. Write for readers instead of the search engine, if you are not writing for readers, then it’s difficult for your blog to be a brand.

Once you complete your post check for the grammatical mistakes. You can use any tools for checking grammar. Here at Scrollbucks, I am using Grammarly free grammar checker tool.
